Hilda Kernell's world of images lies in the borderland between external and internal realities where thoughts, whims and ideas are draped in the recognizable and familiar forms of external reality. The result is surprising. In small triptychs, painted on wooden panels, she depicts opposite pairs with common denominators such as Outdoor / Indoor, Summer / Winter and Medieval / Present.
She is a member of the Centrum voor Beeldende Kunst in Groningen.
